Scripture: Mark 10:35–10:38, Mark 10:46–10:51
Mark 10:35-38; 46-51
Like James and John, attaching Jesus name on our selfish desires does not make it right
What we do in Jesus name can be more about us than Him
Jesus will not rubber stamp our selfish desires so that we can feel justified in sinning
Humility is not the opposite of greatness
"Humility is not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less." Timothy Keller
Jesus redefined greatness as the last shall be first
Being second is having Christ redirect your desires from your wants to his will.
When did we as Christians stop wanting mercy and sight and start wanting privilege and greatness?
God doesn’t want to kill our desires he wants to redeem them
